A solo exhibition of the large, colorful abstract paintings by professor Robert Russell of the Pittsburg State University Art Department recently concluded at the Meier Gallery in downtown Houston. The theme that tied together more than twenty pictures was Russell's attraction to jazz improvisations by shuch artists as Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck.
