| Summary |
Two feature films and three short films focus on the bedrock of democracy--voting. How and why do people vote in America, and what should we demand from our leaders? Red state road trip chronicles a 6000-mile road trip through middle America in the aftermath of the 2004 presidential election, in search of America's soul. In Considering democracy, citizens of 13 different countries tell what they think of the United States and its policies and raise questions our leaders should be challenged to answer. A brief history of voting is a short, animated history of representative democracy. Choose to choose tells the story of a voter registration and education initiative to encourage inmates in the Philadelphia city jail to vote. In Long division, one of the world's greatest economists, Gordon Tullock weighs in on why he doesn't vote, and inadvertently reveals why we should. |
