Summary This evaluation focuses on the demonstration of hybrid electric buses and trolleys produced by Ebus, Inc. (www.ebus.com), of Downey, California. Ebus manufactures 22-foot buses with a variety of optional powertrains and exterior designs. The vehicles come with battery electric and hybrid electric powertrain options, and purchasers can choose either conventional bus or antique-trolley-style exteriors. The Indianapolis Transportation Corporation (IndyGo) and Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) participated in a demonstration of the Ebus vehicles. Each fleet chose hybrid electric powertrains but selected different exterior designs and fuels.
