Summary An original compilation of articles written by early day Howard, KS newspaperman Thomas E. Thompson has been recreated in a most interesting book titled "Something about Sofy Daniels" by Minnesota author, Michael Lane. The original booklet, intended as a birthday gift in January of 1914 for a young Howard, KS woman named Hattie Davis contained a series of articles that had been published as part of a syndicated column Thompson wrote under the heading "Potpourri." Davis went to work for Thompson in the office of the Howard Courant in 1907. Thompson found such a fiery spirit in the young woman that he coined a nickname, Sofy Daniels for his young apprentice.
