Summary Educational films from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s addressing safety issues.
What To Do in a Gas Attack (1943) explains what war gas is, how it is used by the enemy, and how simple household items, such as bicarbonate of soda and bleaching solution, may be used to prevent casualties.
How to Avoid Muscle Strains (1949) shows views of a living model in action and animated drawings illustrate the mechanics of muscular activity, especially in lifting heavy objects. Diagrams show the analogy between the three types of levers studied in physics and certain familiar arrangements of bones and muscles in the human body. Shows correct and incorrect ways of lifting objects, and the effects of overstrain on the cerebral column.
Girls Beware (1961) presents, in four case histories, the dangers of girls' falling prey to molesters. Describes baby-sitting do's and don'ts and girl pick-up situations. Companion film to Boys beware. For elementary and junior high grades.
