Note |
"Roy Rockwood is a Stratemeyer Syndicate house name that appeared on many series books, but the two most famous were Bomba the Jungle Boy and the Great Marvel Series. The lion's share of the latter were actually written by Howard Garis. Though Garis is commonly assumed to have written the Bomba books as well, the actual author was John Duffield. Bomba lived far back in the jungles of the Amazon with a half-demented naturalist who told the lad nothing of his past. The jungle boy was a lover of birds, and hunted animals with a bow and arrow and his trusty machete. He had a primitive education in some things, and his daring adventures were followed with breathless interest by thousands. This is the eighth volume in the series."--Kessinger. |
