Summary
This official website of the Congressionally-established American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) describes the military cemeteries, memorials, monuments, markers, registers, and databases that it manages. ABMC resources pertain chiefly to American military personnel who served in World War I and World War II, but also for those who served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. ABMC additionally maintains commemorative registers of prisoners of war and Americans missing in action, and conducts burials and memorializations for service members who died overseas and were not repatriated to the United States for burial. In addition to information about these activities and resources, the site presents educational activities for classroom use, and still images both historic and contemporary.
