Summary Case study using the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument as an example of how co-managers currently implement ecosystem-based management (EBM) into large-scale MPA management. University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate students working with Monument staff proposed a planning and management approach to better integrate EBM and conservation of focal resources via a prioritization process that identifies biological, cultural and social resources through a stakeholder process that can aid protected area management.
