Message from the President of the United States, communicating, in compliance with a resolution of the Senate of the 20th instant : a copy of a letter addressed to the United States Attorney General by Judge Lecompte, of Kansas.
Judge Lecompte's letter is in response to his dismissal from the position of Chief Justice of the Kansas Territorial Court. Lecompte and territorial governor John Gery were involved in numerous disputes concerning the role of the court in the Kansas Territory elections.
