Summary A biography of Smedley Darlington Butler, who was highly decorated for his service as a Marine in wars around the world. After leaving the service, he toured the country speaking as a veterans' rights advocate, he led a war on crime in his hometown of Philadelphia during Prohibition, and it was his 1934 testimony before the Committee on Unamerican Activities that exposed a group of powerful Wall Street businessmen who were trying to stage a military coup during Franklin Delano Roosevelt's presidency.
