A weekly horticultural magazine which was founded in Albany by Luther Tucker but changed homes and ownership several times before merging with its rival, the Gardener's monthly, in 1875. It was notable during Tucker's ownership (1846-53) for articles on architecture (with engravings) and for imaginative writing, and during Vick's ownership (1853-55) for its handsome appearance and hand-colored plates of fruits and flowers. |
