Willobie's Avisa, ostensibly edited by Hadrian Dorrell from papers left by his friend Henry Willoughby; thought to be the work of Dorrell himself, though the name is probably fictitious. Has been ascribed to the Earl of Southampton, Matthew Roydon, and others. The Apologie also by Dorrell; The victorie of English chastitle is signed Thomas Willoby frater Henrici Willoby nuper defuncti. Penelope's complaint contains an attack on "Avisa." |
