In a rural stretch of the Pacific Northwest, gentle and reclusive William Talmadge tends to apples and apricots as if they were loved ones; after stealing some of Talmadge's fruit, two teenaged girls, one of which is pregnant, take up on Talmadge's land and indulge in his compassion.
