A Matter of Convenience (color) is all about the joys of Kwik-Stop, 7 Eleven, Shop N Go, and the rest of those ubiquitous convenience stores that dot the landscape like weeds. Made (in Kansas) by the National Association of Convenience Stores (around the same time these tiny places exploded all over the countryside), it stresses the ease and friendliness of "in-and-out shopping," while big-shot supermarkets are booed for being just too damn large. We especially love the guy shopping in his bathrobe, and the cashier gal with the biggest hair in America! |

The Thing About Courtesy (color) is meant for the convenience-store employees and stresses how friendly clerks will keep customers coming back. So if you're behind the counter of the local Mini-Mart, make damn sure you offer your customers fast friendly service, the proper attitude, a good personal appearance, and customer greetings. |

Consumer Education: Retail Credit Buying (color) has teenagers Tallulah and Samantha Jones, and their angry dad, lecturing us on credit-card debt. Though "Lulu's no loony bird," she keeps spending until she's in big financial trouble. Made in 1968, it makes us all nostalgic for the horrors of 2% interest. |

So You Want to be a Home Appliance Service Technician (color) is a recruitment reel anxious to snare young men into servicing any of the "40 motors installed in the average home." Sure, it looks dull now, but just wait until you see that "Kitchen of Tomorrow" and those futuristic jumpsuits. |

The Supervisor as a Leader (b&w) is a two-part short about 1944 factory life showing us various stupid bosses who make their workers hate 'em. And, look, there's PAUL FORD (The Phil Silvers Show) as a disgruntled employee. And note the use of the word "hell," a Production Code no-no with feature films. |
