Summary |
The life of a literary underdog -- born in Russia and removed at an early age to Philadelphia where he lived as newsboy, office boy and office cub on the old Record. His childhood was typical of many Jewish immigrant children. And his subsequent years seem to be a lugubrious wasting away, eternally yearning for the unattainable. Except that for a space he lived in the shadow of the personalities of Yeats, Pound and others of their group, his life seems singularly uninspiring. |
