| Summary |
Endometrial cancer is the most common cancer of the female reproductive system, with more than 49,500 United States women that are diagnosed with the disease each year. It tends to develop after menopause, when a woman is between the ages of 50 and 60. It is the sixth most common cancer in women worldwide (fourteenth most common cancer overall), with 320,000 new cases diagnosed in 2012, and it is the 13th most common cause of death from cancer with nearly 86,000 deaths worldwide. Endometrial cancer occurs when cells of the endometrium undergo a transformation and begin to grow and multiply wit. |
