Part of Swift's satire on W. Wood's brass half-pence. John Harding, who had printed the fourth of the Drapier's letters, was to be brought to trial. Following publication of "Seasonable advice" the grand jury threw out the bill against him. Soon after, Wood's half-pence was rejected by another grand jury. cf. Dictionary of national biography. |
