Summary |
"Fifty-four men participated in some part of the Second Continental Congress. Thirteen individual colonials (twenty-four percent) experienced both the fighting of the War for Empire and membership in the Second Continental Congress between 1775-1776. those who once so vehemently supported Great Britain and were willing to die for common interests, not supported the signing of a treasonous document following a conversion that took but thirteen years to accomplish. This study examines the military experiences of each of these thirteen men in an attempt to discover their rationale for such a dramtic shift in ideology"--P. 2. |
