Summary |
The Indo-Pacific region is home to more than 50 percent of the global population, nearly two-thirds of the world's economy, and seven of the world's largest militaries. The U.S. has long recognized the Indo-Pacific region as vital to its security and prosperity. In support of overall U.S. activities intended to strengthen its long-term position in the Indo-Pacific region, the U.S. Congress has appropriated funding over the past five years for efforts in most countries in the region. This report provides information on the amount of ARIA/IPS directed funds the Department of State (State) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) allocated for the implementation of ARIA, including a description of activities and corresponding countries, for fiscal year (FY) 2019 through FY 2023. |
