Gerónimo de Sierra is part of a small handful of "sixties" intellectuals who marked the central features of the social sciences of Latin America and who starred in a deep and creative dialogue with the most relevant thinkers of the last half of the 20th century. The journey through his anthology reveals to the reader the indissoluble unity between his work and the vicissitudes of Latin American politics and societies of the last five decades. His work clearly shows us the main lines of reflection of the social sciences and, in particular, of political sociology of the last fifty years, which accounts for the broad continental dialogue contained in his research. His work reflects the political and intellectual commitment to the various social and political movements that during these decades have defended the interests of the most vulnerable and excluded sectors of Latin America.
