Summary The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) presents information on bogus yellow pages invoices. The FTC cautions businesses about fraudulent promoters who are soliciting advertising for online or nonexistent business directories. Before buying directory advertising space, one should check out the company and its publication, ask for copies of a previous directory edition, and check with local and state consumer protection agencies to determine if any complaints have been filed about the publisher.
