Summary This is a macro history of Mexico, from the perspective of foreigners who immigrated to the country and Mexicans who emigrated from it, based largely on primary printed sources, unpublished sources, and monographs. The first volume studies from the victory of Santa Anna and Mier y Terán that prevented the Spanish reconquest in 1829; the independence of Texas (1836); the French victory of 1838 and the American one, a decade later, to the various immigrations of French, Barcelona, Belgian, Italian and even Russian, passing through the hundred thousand Mexicans who became foreigners in their own land.
