Summary
The Oklahoma farm boy, turned outlaw, would gain fame several hundred miles north in the Kansas City of Tom Pendergrast and Vernon Miller. In fact, his early arrival at one of the classic Kansas City brothels led to the nickname he most hated. It was there that Madam Ann Chambers has supposedly said to him, "I want you for myself, Pretty Boy."
