Asa Messenger was literally one of the builders of Pittsburg. The A. Messenger Lumber and Mill Work Construction Company, of which he was head, was involved in the construction of McCray and Willard Halls at the College, the Horace Mann school, the YMCA building, the Masonic Temple, the South Broadway apartments, the Beck and Hill building, the Hotel Besse, several old homes and other buildings throughout Pittsburg. |
