In view of the rapid aging of the Brazilian population, the book exposes some aspects about the representation of the elderly in society. For this, several authors present advances and obstacles that the elderly population faces, such as the representation of old age in different instances (university, family, work), borders and approximations between the different types of old age, such as active/healthy and institutionalized/sick and other matters pertaining to the elderly.
