Summary Freud thought all artists were a bit odd-- if not downright neurotic-- and he tried to prove it with such social misfits as de Vinci and Michaelangelo. But Freud never met a Kansas artist named Birger Sandzen, a quiet 23-year old Swede who came to Lindsborg in 1894 to join the faculty of Bethany College.
