This book raises three important questions: first, it explores the richness and variety of social movements in Latin America; second, it illustrates the wide range of approaches and perspectives that exist among current scholars of Latin American protest; Third, it shows that the continent has its own specificity in the study of social movements, in dialogue with North American and European academia.
