Summary The "January Effect" is the tendency of stocks, especially the low priced, over-the-counter stocks, to perform well between mid-December and mid-January. The argument is that stock prices are depressed between mid-December and mid-January because of tax loss selling and big institutions cleaning up their portfolios.
Subject Stock market.
