Summary
This booklet contains a brief picture of the financial situation of Kansas farmers in January, 1977. Dry weather and lower prices have reduced farm receipts; higher prices of inputs have increased costs; and net farm incomes have decreased substantially since 1974. The situation deteriorated during the last half of 1976 particularly. Some farmers who made major purchases of land, machinery, or cattle had losses rather than net farm incomes for 1976.
