Summary |
Anne Brown, like many another girl under the stress and temptation of wartime, had loved not wisely but too well. Now her lover had jilted her, and she was to have a child. The young soldier Anne met at the USO dance had been jilted in his turn, and was therefore ripe to fall in love with a girl like Anne on the rebound. Soon after they were married. As week followed week, Anne had to hope that her husband would be shipped overseas before he learned the truth and her reasons for marrying him. Then out of the blue the baby's father reappeared on the scene. |
