Obi-Wan, pledged to protect the infant Luke Skywalker who is being raised on the remote planet of Tatooine, makes the difficult decision to leave the child in the care of relatives for a brief time in order to investigate a rumor that another Jedi has somehow survived the destruction of the Jedi Order by the evil Empire.
