The preparation of this collection was begun in 1950 by Paul A. Bennett; printing was begun at the George Grady Press, Fairfield, Conn., and completed under the editorship of Melvin Loos by Harbor Press, New York.
Reprints. Rollins' essay originally appeared in Signature, n.s., 10 (1950); the checklist of De Vinne's writings, in the Grolier Club Yearbook, 1914; De Vinne's reflections, in Century magazine, Mar. 1896; the interview, in Scientific American, Nov. 14, 1903. The three essays in v. 2, all by De Vinne, are from Century magazine, June 1888, from Scribner's, Apr.-May 1880, and Scribner's, Oct. 1881.
