Summary |
William Powell was a film actor who was born on July 29, 1892, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On November 6, 1944, Powell received an extortion letter at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, located in Hollywood, California. The letter advised him, if he valued his life, to send $10,000 to the American First Party. This threat was also sent to actresses Gloria De Haven and Betty Davis. William Powell died on March 4, 1984. |
